Gaayam is a 1993 Telugu political thriller film, based on the 1980s Vijayawada Gang Warfare. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, and story co-written by himself and Mani Ratnam, the film starred Jagapathi Babu, Revathi, Kota Srinivasa Rao, and Urmila Matondkar in pivotal roles. Upon its release, the film received positive reviews, with six state Nandi Awards.
