Malyalam Film Olappeeppi Starring Biju Menon, Paris Laxmi, Reina Maria, and Sreejith Ravi, Olappeeppi released on 23 September 2016, by Eros International. ‘Olappeeppi’, directed by Krish Kaimal,Biju Menon does the lead role. Paris Laxmi is the heroine.The cinematography is also done by Krish Kymal. The music is composed by Anil Johnson. ‘Olappeeppi’ is produced by Sunil Ibrahim under the banner of Vibezon Movies. ‘Olappeeppi’ is emotionally haunting and makes one think of how politics and circumstances surrounding lives shakes up the whole fabric and influences lives in a very fundamental and basic manner. The entire movie is set against the political backdrop of the Kerala of the 60s and 70s when the Land Reform Act set an absolute ceiling on the amount of land a family could hold, destabilizing the entire feudal community. Barring the over the top dramatics in some areas, ‘Olappeeppi’ makes the cut and is a refreshing and thoughtful watch.

The story is set in Kerala in the 1970s, in the backdrop of various socio-economic changes that prevailed in the state during the execution of the Land Reform Act in 1977. The story focuses on the turmoil created in an upper class feudal family due to the Land Reform Act.
