Swarna Kaduva narrates the story of a person named Rini Iype Maattummel, who is the driver- cum-assistant of Lonappan, a big businessman. Lonappan is a jewellery owner and Rini is his confidant. Rini, at the same time is a man, who is greedy and hell-bent on making money. Things take a turn when Lonappan's car meets with an accident and what happens rest has been interestingly conveyed in Swarna Kaduva. The film is about how Rini tries to milk every situation for his own benefits until certain unprecedented happenings come in his way. His true colours are evident at a situation when he is shockingly rude to his mother and sister. The script of Babu Janardhanan evokes the feel of an ordinary 'dirty game' drama involving politicians and businessmen. On the other side , director goes for the conventional method and thereby completely shutting the door for anything novel in presentation. An outdated presentation at times makes the movie less attractive but the comical flavor in the story saves the movie end up as a washout. Swarna Kaduva is an entertainer in its own rights but could have been far better had the direction side focused on the presentation side to go beyond the orthodox movie making style. Still it is a watchable one.
