Bollywood and the entire nation was shocked by the news of the sudden demise of veteran actress Sridevi. Bollywood's dearest diva Sridevi Boney Kapoor passed away due to a massive heart failure in Dubai. She was there to attend the marriage of her nephew Mohit Marwah. 

According to the reports, her significant other Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor were with her then.  The sudden demise of her left her fans in deep shock, who saw her as the finest on-screen character of the Indian silver screen.

There was a time when Sridevi was at the zenith of her career and declined a Hollywood film offered by a lofty maker Steven Spielberg. Around then she was being hailed as the 'lady Amitabh Bachchan'. 

In 1993, Steven Spielberg was helming Jurrasic Park and expected to cast Sridevi in a section. Being at the apex of her career, she didn't believe that its suitable for her stature. She agreeably declined Spielberg and paved a way for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to make a mark in Hollywood. Regardless, Jurrasic Park was not just a movie Sridevi rejected. She was offered the part against Shah Rukh Khan in Darr. She denied the part saying that it had nothing new to offer her. She moreover said that she would have happily played Shah Rukh Khan's part if that was offered to her. She said laiter, "After Chandni and Lamhe, I feel Darr would have been a standard character for me." Sridevi Boney Kapoor passed away on Saturday night due to a massive cardiac arrest. She was 54. She was rushed to Rashid Hospital but couldn't be revived. Her mortal remains will be brought to Mumbai by Monday evening.
