After director Vidhu Vincent’s resignation letter sparked off a debate questioning the functioning style of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has come defending the movement.

The actress has posted “WCC” as her cover photo on Facebook and quoted Albert Camus in a post. She has also replied to many, who commented to her about the controversies that has been debated following Vidhu Vincent’s resignation letter.

“This battle here is beyond us as individuals. When we are being played by patriarchal goons in a well organised fashion the best we will do it not play right into it. We, as an organisation have always stood for each other and continue to do so. No allegation or concern will be left vague. That is a standard we proudly uphold. But we draw the line at anything being dragged down to the cliched show in public that the ones expected us to do. When they go low, we go high!,” writes Parvathy.

To another comment she replies, “I hope you understand that WCC will never have it easy because it’s trying to change the system from within.”
