Priyadarshan: No attempts to have Marakkar released before people recover

Reported By 06 Apr 2020

Actor Priyadarshan's magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, with Mohanlal at the helm, was expected to hit theaters worldwide on 26 March 2020. The film, which was one of Mollywood's most awaited releases this year, has been indefinitely postponed due to the lockdown caused by Covid-19 in India.

In a recent interview, Priyadarshan revealed when the makers expect to release the film. The director said the release of the film is not the focus right now because people have a lot of bigger issues to tackle. He said entertainment isn't the highest priority of people's lives and launching a film right now isn't the best thing to do particularly when people need to fulfill other needs.

The director has explained that only after people have recovered from this pandemic can they release the video.
