Malayalam Director Deepan passes away

Popular Malayalam filmmaker Deepan aka Diphan passed away today morning at Kochi. He was 47. Deepan suffered from liver cirrhosis and was admitted at a private hospital in Kochi.

Deepan made his directorial debut with the 2003 film Leader. He is known for the Prithviraj starrer superhit movie Puthiya Mugham. His other movies include - Hero, SIM, Dolphin Bar, etc. Deepan was working for a project going by the name Sathya, for which he roped in Jayaram in the lead role. The film was in its post productions stage when this tragedy occurred. It is quite sad to learn of his death.

The filmmaker passed away today and his body will be transported to Trivandrum from Kochi. The last rites shall be conducted in Trivandrum itself tomorrow. Celebs have shared their condolences for the director’s untimely death. He is the son of eminent dubbing artiste Anandavalli. hope he rests in peace.
