Ever since the film Ira was announced, it has been garnering a lot of media attention. While a group in social media debated over its title and apparent connection with the actor assault case, others went ahead and made a poster with Unni Mukundan coming out of jail, something that reminded us of Dileep's bail day scene. But Unni, who plays the lead along with Gokul Suresh, refuses to address the rumours. He says: "At this point, I can say nothing about Ira, other than the fact that it is a thriller. It has a great script. Ira is a small-yet-wonderful film."

So, didn't he see the fan-made poster? "Yes, I was pretty surprised to see its perfection. But, I don't know from where they sourced such a picture," says Unni, breaking into laughter. He is thrilled to be back with his favourite team. Ira also marks the first production venture of director Vysakh and writer Uday Krishna's Vysakh Udaykrishna Productions. And, for Unni, this is nothing short of a homecoming. For, the actor got his first break in the industry when he played the lead in Vysakh's Mallu Singh. "Ira's director Saiju was the one who dubbed for me in my debut Bombay March 12. Ever since we've been quite close. So, I was thrilled to be part of this venture," he says. He is also looking forward to sharing the screen with Gokul. "We all have combination scenes," he says.

Unni is also eagerly awaiting the release of his next, Masterpiece, that will hit the screens during Christmas. He shares screen space with Mammootty. "Then I have my Telugu film Bhaagamathie releasing in January," he says.
