Tovino Thomas’ son Tahaan turned a month old a few days ago. We recently caught up with the actor, who is currently at his home in Irinjalakuda, to know how he’s enjoying this phase of fatherhood and the meaning of Tahaan.

Ask him about Tahaan and the actor says, “He’s at my wife’s house now that is hardly 2km away. So, my daughter Izza and I go there daily. He’s just a month old, so he’s asleep all the time. When Izza was born, I had just finished Ennu Ninte Moideen and there was a gap like this where I was at home. I could be with my wife during the delivery and three months after that. So, it’s just a repeat of that, but this time Izza is there with me. She keeps watching him when he smiles during his sleep. She asks what do babies dream about? She tries to communicate with him.”

On the reason behind choosing the name Tahaan, Tovino says, “I wanted the name to have a meaning and be unique. Tahaan means merciful. Tahaan Tovino also sounds nice. It can be a Hindu, Christian or Muslim name; it can be an Arabic or Indian name. That’s what we liked about it. At home, we call him Haan, which means sun. Izza too is a unique name and it means prestige.”
